YOUR HOSTS
Chris Swersey and Mary Wright have guided on the Salmon since 1989.
They have 2 children, Duncan, age 14, and Connor, age 11. Duncan took his first river trip before he was born
and rowed the entire 80 miles by himself at age 13. Connor ran the river for the first time at age 3 and was
big brother's first mate on his initiation trip.
Chris has guided commercially since 1988. He had a 10-year
career as a professional brewmaster, and currently serves as Special Projects Coordinator for the Brewer's Association
and Competition Manager for the Great American Beer Festival and the World Beer Cup. He is the brains on the business
side and our fishing guru.
Mary started guiding Silver Cloud trips in 1990; today she is
our menu planner and chief organizer. Mary also serves as Executive Director of River Discovery, a nonprofit that offers
Salmon River adventure programs to teen and adult cancer survivors.
Mary
and Chris continually search for new beer, wine and food
pairings - an effort which makes the off season almost as
much fun as the summer rafting season itself!
OUR CREW
Silver Cloud takes pride in having the
best crew on the Salmon River. As a group and as individuals, our guides are
our most important asset; many have been with Silver Cloud for more than 10
years. Our crew breathes life into our trips and makes them the special
vacations they are.
Silver Cloud guides make each trip unique by giving interpretive talks about Idaho history,
native cultures, wildlife, astronomy, Lewis and Clark in Idaho, fly fishing and many other topics. Our guests
have told us time and time again that these programs were the favorite part of their trip with us. Our crew's
dedication sets us apart from all other outfitters on the Salmon. |
